Starting
now and for every Saturday, I will be posting a stock pick that I think
will make you good money in either the short term or longer term.
Before why I'll tell you why I think you should buy a certain stock, I
will first tell you what the companies do. Today's pick is a company
called Companhia de Saneamento Basico de Sao Paulo (SABESP); they
provide water and sewage services to customers in Brazil; however the
company does not operate the water systems. They provide basic
sanitation services which include abstraction, treatment, processing
and distribution of water, as well as treatment and reuse of sewage.
SABESP
is an ADR (American Depository Receipt) which means that it's a
security that trades in the U.S in the form a stock. This company is
also not widely paid attention to by analysis.
This past week,
SBS has been up significantly, however I feel there is much more room
to run for this stock. First of all, if you put SBS up against its
peers, you will see it has a lower multiple than that of its
competition. Also, Brazil's economy has been on fire. The Bovespa
(Brazil's stock exchange) has been on fire as of late, and will
continue to do so. The company is expected to have double digit returns
year over year. Although this is just another boring foreign utility
company; it has the potential to do well. If SBS were trading in
conjunction with its peers, this stock could be at $40 from its Friday
close of $19.41. For disclosure reasons, I do own shares in SABESP.
